Elizabeth Viriya, MD

Elizabeth Viriya, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery specialist.  She earned her BS and MS from Columbia University with a major in biomedical engineering.  After graduating from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and completing her residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, she became interested in cornea and refractive surgery.   Her fellowship training in San Diego, CA, with some of the most prominent cornea and refractive surgeons in the nation included clinical trials, a publication, and management of complex diseases and surgical cases.  

Dr. Viriya is a compassionate physician whose goal is to provide the patient with options to optimize visual outcomes regardless of the severity of their ocular condition.  Her knowledge of the latest techniques in ophthalmic surgeries include:

Cataract Surgery:

Laser assisted surgery (incisions, limbal relaxing incisions, and cataract fragmentation).

She is conversant in Spanish.Dr. Viriya enjoys spending time with her 2 young children, music, learning about different cultures, and traveling.   She is happy to be a part of Clearview Eye Surgery.
